The RugbyWorks program supports young people at high risk of exclusion and disengagement, using sport, mentoring and long-term relational support to create lasting change and employment opportunities.

Adapted from Dallaglio RugbyWorks (UK), we deliver the proven youth development program that has supported over 9,500 young people across nine years.

The Research

  • for every $100 invested saves $2,300 of public money

  • increase in participants moving into Employment, Education or Training after school compared to others who did not go through the program

  • the extra well-being value for each young person who has been through the program in improved mental health, confidence and community ties (beyond fiscal savings)

  • these statistics are based on the Social Return on Investment (SROI) study for Dallaglio RugbyWorks in the UK

What we do

We use the values of Rugby Union as a vehicle for developing skills and opportunities for future employment.

Using a structured Theory of Change through: Developing Life Skills, Raising Aspirations, Improving Physical and Mental Wellbeing, we build the employability of young people.

With this groundwork, we link young people with tailored Career Taster and Work Experience opportunities to build fulfilling career aspirations.

Our Patrons

Silei Eutale

Patron

Silei Etuale is a former Wallaroo who earned 13 Test caps and represented Australia at two Women's Rugby World Cups. Silei has honoured us by agreeing to be a Patron of RugbyWorks Victoria.

She is a true champion of Rugby and a crusader for women in rugby and an inspiration to many.

Harry Potter

Patron

Harry Potter is a professional rugby player with the NSW Waratahs and the Wallabies, and supporter of RugbyWorks Victoria.

Harry lives the rugby values and the importance of inclusion, both on the field and off it. Harry has committed his support to RugbyWorks Victoria in delivering life changing programs.
